At Pinnacle Farms all students are encouraged to develop their personal horsemanship skills. If you’ve never touched a horse, we can help you gain the confidence and skill-set required to handle them. If you haven’t ridden in years, we can help you polish your skill-set, form, & fitness level. If you are an active Dressage or Hunter/Jumper rider and would like to take your skills to the next level, we can help you!
We believe that everyone learns at his or her own pace. It is with this in mind that we specialize in lessons one-on-one and small groups of 4 or less. Our trainer gives each student the attention that they deserve to provide the very best instruction and experience that our clients deserve!
Pinnacle Farms offers lessons in Horsemanship for people new to horses, Hunter/Jumpers from beginner through advanced levels, and introductory Dressage. Our beginning students will learn how to properly handle a horse on the ground, not just ride.
During the course of an average lesson some of the typically covered topics are:
- Safety - both in the saddle and on the ground
- Understanding your horse - knowing when the horse is afraid, angry, frustrated, relaxed, and happy
- Confidence building - grooming, tacking up, proper body position at all gaits
- Communication- creating the connection between horse and rider so that the horse knows what is being asked of it and the rider knows the proper way to ask the horse to do something!
New clients will start with a private Rider Assessment lesson, Beginners learn the basics and start on their journey in our program. Intermediate to Advanced students are evaluated and have the opportunity to show us what they know. All students discuss their goals and desired results with our trainer.
Depending on your personal aspirations, we tailor a riding program to meet your goals. Our horses are well-schooled and well-cared for; they will help you be the best rider possible. We are also able to provide lessons on a rider's horse that is either boarded at Pinnacle Farms, or shipped in!
